In this blog I hope to do five things
1) Share my fascination of the world with others
2) Look at how the mind works.
3) Investigate how we as humans perceive and misperceive reality based on our own personal filterpretation.
4) Look at how we as humans interact with the world around us.
5) Talk about writing n general ,with a focus on China and Sci-Fi.
My name is Shawn Mahoney, husband, and the adoring Father of two vibrant, beautiful, intelligent, active, and stubborn girls. I am an avid reader of many genres, yet I always seem to have at least one Sci-Fi book in my active pile. My professional background is in International Business. Typically I work in areas where cross-cultural competency and understanding are vital, such as business development, negotiations, sales, problem solving, and new product development. Over 75% of my experience has been in and with China. I have been studying Mandarin Chinese and China since 1993, attaining core language and cultural competency in 1998. To further study culture and how it impacts international interactions, I earned an M.A. in International Affairs in 2008.
Currently, in addition to writing this blog, I am writing a book on China and taking the opportunity to write Science Fiction as well. If any of my endeavors are published I will update that information on this blog.
